What are Lip Fillers?
Dermal fillers can enhance the lips and make them look fuller and softer. Not all dermal fillers work for the lips, however. Lip fillers need to have a special texture and flexibility so your lips can still move naturally. At Renew MD, we use the Juvederm® family of dermal fillers, which includes two lip fillers. All Juvederm® products contain hyaluronic acid. This molecule occurs in your skin and in many moisturizers because it effectively traps and holds moisture in the skin. Hyaluronic acid fillers have become the most popular type of lip filler due to their safety and impressive results.

How to Make Thin Lips Look Fuller
A lip filler can enhance your lips by adding natural-looking volume. Some Juvederm® fillers have been designed for use in the cheeks or other areas of the face, but Juvederm® Volbella XC and Juvederm® Ultra XC have special formulas that make them excellent lip fillers.
Lip fillers must be thinner and more flexible than fillers for other areas. The lips move constantly, and no one wants a lip filler that holds them back. Thinner lip fillers still add volume, but these fillers move like your lips and never look stiff or artificial. If you have thin lips and want to add volume, lip fillers can make them fuller and plumper.
How Long Do Lip Fillers Last?
In general, lip fillers do not last as long as some other types of dermal fillers. The thinner formula and the constant motion of the lips combine to make the filler break down faster. However, most lip fillers last six months to a year, including Juvederm® Volbella XC and Juvederm® Ultra XC. In order to keep your fuller lips as long as possible, make sure you have your lip filler injected by a professional from Renew MD.
Am I a Good Candidate for Fuller Lips?
If you have thin lips and want them to look fuller, you are a good candidate for lip fillers. The hyaluronic acid in Juvederm® does not cause a reaction in the body, so almost everyone can use it safely. These lip fillers even contain lidocaine to numb the area with each injection for greater comfort.
Is There Any Downtime With Lip Fillers?
You will have no downtime with lip filler treatment. You will finish your appointment within half an hour and can return to your daily routine. You may have some minor bruising or red spots in the injection area, but this fades within a few days. You may notice the feeling of the lip filler at first, but you will quickly stop noticing it because it moves so naturally.
