Will CoolSculpting® reduce my weight?
In most cases very little, if any. The CoolSculpting® procedure targets and reduces fat cells with each treatment, removing approximately 20 to 25% of the target area fat.* Each individual is different and some may benefit from a second treatment to create the “Wow” factor.
How long will the results last?
Generally, results will last years if the patient maintains a healthy diet and exercise routine.*
*Results and patient experience may vary.
How does the cost of CoolSculpting® compare to that of liposuction?
It depends on the area and amount of (fat) loss desired. Typically, the best candidates for CoolSculpting® can save from 40% to 60%, compared with liposuction. Cost is only one factor to consider, however. For many patients, the fact that the CoolSculpting® procedure has no downtime or post-surgery discomfort* is more important than potential savings.
Who would not be an ideal candidate for CoolSculpting®?
Obese patients who would benefit more from liposuction. All potential patients are evaluated during a consultation prior to scheduling the treatment.
Can CoolSculpting® be integrated with liposuction?
Yes, CoolSculpting® may be performed after the patient has fully recovered from a liposuction procedure. This especially true in cases where post-liposuction results aren’t even or have minor lumps or pockets – something that CoolSculpting® can address.
How long does the CoolSculpting® procedure take?
Typically about an hour for one session. You can resume pretty much your normal activities on the same day.
What’s the difference between fat reduction and weigh loss, and where does CoolSculpting® come in?
It’s a common misconception that weight loss and fat reduction are the same thing. They’re not. When we lose weight, our fat cells become smaller, but the number of fat cells remains the same. When we gain weight, those fat cells become larger. CoolSculpting® actually reduces the number of fat cells in the treated areas.*
