What to Expect During a PRP for Hair Loss Treatment
One of our expert providers will draw a small sample of blood from your arm. Then, they’ll place your blood into the centrifuge, which will separate your red blood cells from your plasma. Following the separation, they’ll inject the PRP directly into your scalp at the level of your hair follicles. Contrary to what you may think, this is actually a comfortable procedure. No numbing is needed. Not only can PRP stimulate the hair growth phase, but it can also increase your hair count and thickness.
In most cases, PRP for hair loss is performed over a 4 to a 6-week time frame and consists of three to four sessions. After your final treatment, we’ll encourage you to return to our office for maintenance treatments every 6 to 12 months.
Good Candidates for PRP for Hair Loss
PRP for hair loss can be a life-changing treatment for many men and women. We highly recommend it if you’re bothered by premature hair loss or thinning hair, have androgenic alopecia, or would like to resolve a receding hairline. It can be a great way to improve the appearance of your hair without the risks and inconveniences of surgery. We discourage this treatment if you’re on blood thinners.
